Betrayal
By: Monica M. Mosqueda\

The spark to a powder bag.
I've seen what happens
when one exposes their heart.
What happens if you
put your complete faith and trust into one person?
They have the ability to lock away your secret
in exchange for promises. The respect
is mutual and both of you should follow
each other's word. Unfortunately, too much information
leaves a target on your chest. While they
hold your life as a timepiece on the mantle of friends.
At any moment lies can pour out their ager.
Assumptions and misunderstanding lead
to verbal abuse. I've been there to pick up
the delicate frames of people who
have shattered under the pressure.
As tensions rise, who is the victor?
Without planning I watch friends
torment each other.
Tears show
emotions can crush
a backbone.
In the end someone still cares.
That lingering feeling is common,
but finding the courage to move on
means you have tamed the furry.
Blood simmers but now caution keeps
you silent.

  2. Very interesting choice drawing a rusty sword. Very good representation on the theme of betrayal, showing that a sword is usually regarded as a symbol of strength, knighthood, and loyalty (and awesomeness), but those who break the honorable code will suffer, as does the sword. Nice!
